2021 Minnesota Wakesurf Championship
This past weekend we headed to Mound, MN for the Minnesota Wakesurf Championship (MNWSC). I flew in on Thursday morning to do some shredding with Wake For Warriors. Days on the water with this crew is amazing. They are some of the most positive and humbling men and women I have ever met. Prosthetic Legs, Paralyzed, Blind, and Amputee's- none of it stops them from getting behind the boat and pushing themselves. Carves, Airs, 360's, shuvs- they do it all.
Thursday evening we had a nice dinner cruise with Paradise Charters to raise money for Wake For Warriors. Great night on the lake with a silent auction and some delicious tacos. We even had some live surfing entertainment and a Flyover by some old Warbirds.
Friday morning we joined forces with the Inner City Surf Organization and had the privilege of taking young kids out to teach them to surf. Watching these kids let loose and laugh and joke and learn how to surf was so refreshing.
Saturday morning it was up early and off to the contest. It was a lot of fun to be at a live event with people all over and everyone enjoying themselves. The riding from every division was impressive. I am reminded of 3 things every time I go to Minnesota:
1. Their summer weather is AMAZING!
2. There are some really talented wakesurfers of all ages up there.
3. Our Phase 5 dealers have done a GREAT job and everyone is on a Phase 5. (I like to think that is what helps number 2)
I big shout out to Andy Wiegman and the crew for running such great event and asking us to be apart of it. We can not wait for next year.
