INTERVIEW | 2024 Season Recap with Jett Lambert

To say Jett Lambert, aka @JettShreds, had a good 2024 season would be a bit of an understatement. Winning every contest he entered, besides one, traveling the world, dropping NBD’s like nobody else, and having a good attitude the whole time, 2024 treated Jett very well. We caught up with him to chat about it and see what he has in store for 2025. Check it out below!

PHASE 5: Jett, congrats on an unreal season in 2024! Now that it's all said and done, how many wins did you wind up with this season?
JETT:Thank you! Yeah, it was a crazy year. Let me think… I’m pretty sure I got 12 this season!

PHASE 5: Wow, that’s insane. Did you place first in every contest you entered?
JETT:I wish.  Ha! I got second place at the first comp of the season in Arizona or else it would have been a perfect season!

PHASE 5: Oh man, that’s tough! But now you have to go for the perfect season next year! I know it would be tough to pick but what was your favorite moment from 2024?
JETT:I’d have to say my overall championship win at Pro Tour. That's one that just really stands out for me. I also have to say experiencing IWWF for the first time in China was a really sick time!

PHASE 5: Any idea how many frequent flyer miles you racked up? That China trip itself must have been a few…
JETT:Yeah, a pretty good amount!Enough to get to the next status on Delta!

PHASE 5: Speaking of China, how was that trip? Give us a run down. How long were you there for? How were the events and the crews you got to ride with? You know, that sort of thing.
JETT:Man, wakesurfing in China and Hong Kong is on a different level. I was gone for exactly 3 weeks. Definitely a long time! The IWWF events were top notch, which was really nice with it being the first ever Wakesurf Championship.  Everything ran really well and being with my crew, Sean, and Whitley made it that much better.

PHASE 5: How is the surf scene over there? We definitely see a lot of activity through the Phase 5 instagram!
JETT: Dude, everywhere I looked I saw a Key! It was sick. The vibes are so high. I met so many good people and signed A LOT of boards!

PHASE 5: That’s sick. It looks like a really cool place for sure. Did you get to do some “touristy” activities while you were there too?
JETT:Let’s see, we started out on a yacht in Hong Kong to go wakesurfing at Lamma Island (pretty sick!), went to a lot of different areas, ate some really good food. Our friend Jethriel with Wakevolution definitely showed us a good time. China was a much smaller contest, and very different than Hong Kong. It was like leaving the big city to go to a much smaller, quieter area in Haikou. The Chinese Federation did a really good job at showing us their culture and their country. The hospitality that we were given is unmatched. We snuck away and took a train to Shimei Bay a couple of days before the comp started too. It was the sickest beach vibe. We even got lucky and caught some waves!

PHASE 5: Rad. But it can’t all be sunshine and rainbows…what was a moment in 2024 you wish you could change or do differently?
JETT:I would have liked to have won the first comp of the season and go undefeated. But honestly, it just fueled me for the rest of the season. I love doing what I do and block out the outside noise and just keep having a good time.

PHASE 5: So what are your plans for the off season? Any new tricks you’ve got rattling around in your head that you’re looking to stomp?
JETT:Motorcross (always a big thanks to Kissimmee Motor Sports for that one), and get some hours put on my new XT23! That 10 has to be next, let’s see if I can get it and maybe dial in some more surf style tricks.

PHASE 5: Awesome, we’re stoked to see it! Well, congrats again on an UNREAL season this past year, Jett. What are you looking forward to most in 2025?
JETT:I look forward to seeing the Key everywhere, seeing it on instagram and on the podiums is something that doesn’t get old. For the 2025 season, the dates are coming out already, and it’s going to be a busy one. I hope for it to be just as good as my 2024 season. That’s my goal.  Oh and an Invite to the 2025 World Games being held in China!  That would be sick.

PHASE 5: Thanks for taking the time to chat, Jett. Is there anything else you’d like to share with us? How about any thank you’s to toss out there?
JETT:My sponsors! Phase 5 signed me for my first season and I remember being so stoked, and I am always so grateful to be with such a reputable board company who puts us riders first.  Mastercraft keeps me behind the best boats and it’s pretty sick to be a part of that team. Surf Union came out with my Jettshreds edition life jacket this year, which is so sick and I’m thankful for the opportunity and the continued support always! X Insurance has been there since Day 1.  Some of the best guys I know, and a big supporter. I am surrounded by so many good people and feel really lucky. Always big love to my family and friends. Last but not least, Sean. He always looks out, pushes me and has my best interest at heart. Let’s see if we can get back on the podium together this coming season.
