Caro Villeneuve is one of wakesurfing’s and Phase 5’s Legends. Widely recognized as one of the sport's all-time greats and a true ambassador for women's wakesurfing. Hailing from Fernie, British Columbia, Canada (with her H2O School base on Lake Koocanusa), Caro joined Phase 5 as a key international rider, bringing her unparalleled experience and influence to the brand. Since entering pro competition in 2007, she has competed in 87 events, stepping on the podium an astounding 71 times—including 40 first-place finishes, 23 seconds, 8 World Wakesurfing Championships podiums, and a 2015 World Title in women's skim. In 2020, she was honored with the prestigious CWSA Legend Award for her groundbreaking contributions, including creating the World Ranking System now used globally. Even in recent years, she continues to podium at major events like Wake Canada Nationals and provincials, proving her enduring elite-level prowess.
Beyond her competitive dominance, Caro's impact extends far through coaching, education, and growth initiatives. She founded H2O School in 2011, where she has mentored riders from Canada, the US, Europe, Russia, Dubai, the Bahamas, Japan, and beyond, nurturing the next generation with her expertise as a head judge, pro-level official, and passionate instructor. She has served on multiple boards of directors, brought the first World Series of Wakesurfing event to Canada, and consistently advocated for the sport's development.
