From Churubusco, Indiana, where she rides on Blue Lake, Kaelyn grew up around watersports like wakeboarding and kneeboarding before falling in love with wakesurfing at age 7. She entered competition in 2021 and quickly excelled, securing 2nd place in Juniors at the 2022 World Wake Surfing Championships and dominating Amateur Female Skim to win the world title at the 2023 Centurion World Wake Surfing Championships. Her family connection runs deep, with sister Aria Hellemn also riding for Phase 5 and earning youth podiums.
