My name is Kaelyn Hellemn and I am 11 years old. I live in Lima, OH but I surf on a small lake in Churubusco, IN.
Growing up around the lake, I started kneeboarding when I was just 6 and transitioned to wakeboarding at 7. I started wakesurfing at 8. When the pandemic hit and virtual competitions started, I decided I wanted to try competing. I was almost 11. Since I live in Ohio/Indiana, our season is short and I don’t get the extra time to train on the water during the off season. To improve my skills during the off season, I practice on the trampoline and balance boards. I am sponsored by ProWake Watersports and Phase 5. Outside of wakesurfing, I enjoy skateboarding, reading, playing outside, and spending time with my friends and family.
