Sutton Smith is an exciting new addition to the Phase 5 wakesurf team, joining as one of the brand’s 2025 signings and bringing fresh energy with his rapid progression. From Tennessee, he picked up wakesurfing just three years ago but has quickly become a standout ripper with solid technical skills, clean style, and a competitive edge. His rise includes strong podiums like 2nd place in Men's Semi-Pro Skim at the 2025 Volunteer Wake Surf Classic (a Centurion World Series event), multiple 2nds in Amateur Men's Skim at events such as the Southern Surf Slam, and capping the season by winning the 2025 Semi-Pro World Championship.
A passionate competitor rooted in Southern waters, Sutton embodies Phase 5’s ethos of dedication, community stoke, and relentless progression. Whether grinding through heats, pushing limits locally, or competing nationally, he brings positivity and hard work that inspires others. As a newer team rider, Sutton is set for continued growth in 2026 and beyond, collaborating with Phase 5 to showcase their innovative boards while chasing more podiums and spreading the love of wakesurfing.
