Sutton Smith is the latest addition to team Phase 5. Sutton is a ripper straight out of Tennessee and we’re stoked to have him on board for 2025. He’s only been riding for 3 years but has already shown some awesome potential and some solid technical skills. We’re looking forward to seeing what he can do this season as he competes and shreds all year long! Congrats, Sutton!

Good vibes and great times were had by all at the 3rd Annual Phase 5 Regatta this year! The weather might not have been the best with the wind whipping both days but that didn’t slow us down one bit! With 50+ riders and various members of their family attending, there was no shortage of good times to be had.

The idea for the Phase 5 Regatta started off innocently enough. Plan a lake weekend with the team riders and their families to get together, surf, hang out, and have a good time! Pretty simple, right? In theory, yes…but when the call went out, we got a lot more RSVP’s than expected, but hey, the more the merrier, right?! We were stoked with all the riders that came out and we love to see how everyone interacts with one another outside of the competition scene.

We’re stoked to add another promising young talent to team Phase 5 with “Lil E”, aka Emma Proudfit! Emma has been training with team rider Ashley Inloes for the last couple seasons and it has really paid off. With a podium at World’s this past season, we’re excited to see what the future holds for this little ripper!

Another young grom ripper that we’re adding to the Phase 5 roster this year is Declyn Van Der Riet! Hailing from Windermere, FL, Declyn is right in the heart of the wake surfing scene. INTERVIEW | 2024 Season Recap with Whitley Stewart
In 2024, it seemed like no matter where you turned, Whitley Stewart was standing on the top spot of a podium. One of the most technical riders out there, Whitley traveled around all season long shredding and sharing the stoke with tons of different riders. Not only that, she had a pro model release at the end of the season (the Stewart Pro) which really cemented her top status. We caught up with Whitley to chat about the season, her new board, and what the future holds for her.

Bailey Rush hit the scene hard this last season, racking up wins in most of the contests she entered. Not only that, her free riding is stylish, technical, and intense whether she’s riding a skim style or surf! So when we approached her to design her very own pro model board, we weren’t sure which route she would want to go in but she jumped at the opportunity to create a fresh new surf style board that she could make her own!

From November 2-10th, the IWWF is putting on their first World Wakesurf Championships and team Phase 5 will be in attendance! At Phase 5, we’re always looking for new and exciting ways to make our boards even better. To spice things up for 2025, we’ve added a new version of three of our most popular surf style shapes known as the STEALTH line. What’s so special about these boards, you ask? Well, we’ve added basalt to the already strong and highly-durable innegra weave. The basalt not only strengthens the board even more but also gives it even more snap off the wave so you can boost as high as possible!

The Centurion World Series of Wakesurfing World Championship went down in Fort Worth, TX this past weekend and team Phase 5 crushed it, like always! The event took place October 9-12th so there was plenty of surf action to go around! Some notable highlights for the weekend were Jett Lambert and Whiltey Stewart both taking 1st in Pro Men’s and Women’s Skim, which made for Jett’s second world title and Whitley’s third! Congrats! EVENT | Team P5 Podiums at the CWSA World Championships!
The CWSA World Championships just went down in Switzerland and team Phase 5 was there to represent. From the North America team, riders Bailey Rush Afton Bank made the trek out to the beautiful site in Geneva to put on a show for the crowd. We also had European riders Tatiana Ryhzak and Maja Smietana riding in the event.

P5 Podiums Over The Weekend
Two major contests went down this weekend – Stop #2 of the Pro Wakeboard Tour in Park City, Utah & the Nautique European Wakesurf Championships at Liquid Leisure in London. Team Phase 5 had an impressive showing at both contests with team riders appearing on each podium!
2024 MN Wakesurf Championship Canceled
You may have already seen but bummer news from the Minnesota Wakesurf Championship competition that was supposed to go down this weekend! There are a lot of moving parts when it comes to putting on an event and sometimes the pieces don’t fit together. We’re bummed to see the MNWSC be canceled for 2024 but know they’ll come back even better in 2025! See below for a quote from the MNWSC about the situation:
Demo Days at Race City Marine with Drew Danielo
A few weeks back Matt Reed, pro shop manager of Race City Marine reached out to me about coming up to Mooresville, NC and doing a Phase 5 demo with them. After checking my schedule, there was one weekend not currently occupied with my son’s baseball schedule so I made sure it was a go.
'24 Wake the Canyon Podiums
Wake The Canyon, presented by the WWA, went down this past weekend at Buffalo Spring Lake in Lubbock, TX. The contest consisted of wakeboarding and wakesurfing. The hot Texas sun beat down as Team Phase 5 shredded and found themselves on some of the podiums! Congrats to all the riders who placed and a big thanks to the sponsors for putting on the event!
