Caitlin Wheeler is a dedicated pro rider and longtime member of the Phase 5 wakesurf team, bringing consistent performance and a positive, grounded energy to the women's pro skim division. Originally from San Jose, California, and now based in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho—where she was one of the first Phase 5 team riders to represent the brand out West—Caitlin has been competing at the professional level for several years, with multiple podium finishes and top-10 rankings annually in Pro Women's Skim. A standout achievement includes advancing to the World Championship Finals and securing 4th place overall in 2022, showcasing her technical skills, smooth style, and ability to perform under pressure. Along side her husband, Adam Wheeler,she balances elite competition with their family life and their daughter, Kiana, and expressing excitement about returning stronger as a mom rider.
A full-time physical therapist specializing in working with kids with special needs, Caitlin channels her expertise into coaching wakesurfing during Idaho's summer months through their business, Surfs Up North Idaho. She thrives on Phase 5's high-performance skim boards that support her precise control and progression, often favoring shapes that reward clean lines and technical tricks. Whether training on Hayden Lake or nearby waters, competing in major events, or mentoring new riders, Caitlin embodies the Phase 5 ethos of passion, resilience, and community—proving that dedication to the sport can coexist with family, career, and giving back. Her journey inspires women in wakesurfing to push limits while embracing life's other joys, and she continues to contribute to the team's strong presence as she gears up for more podium runs.
