Luke Hutcherson

Luke Hutcherson is a professional wakesurfer from Lake Ray Roberts, Texas, who competes in the Pro Skim division.

Luke Hutcherson is a dedicated and rapidly ascending professional on the Phase 5 wakesurf team, competing in the Pro Men's Skim division with a clean, consistent style and strong competitive drive. From Lake Ray Roberts near Gainesville, Texas, Luke discovered wakesurfing in 2019 and made it his passion, training daily with his dad and jumping into competitions by 2022. His quick rise through the ranks included a 1st-place win in Amateur Men's Skim at his first major event, a 3rd at the 2022 World Wake Surfing Championships in Amateur Male Skim, and a 2nd-place finish in Semi-Pro the following year. Transitioning to pro, Luke has delivered standout performances, including podium finishes like 2nd at events such as the Come & Take It Conroe Classic (part of a full Phase 5 sweep in Pro Men's Skim) and 3rd at the 2024 Southern Surf Slam, proving his ability to battle top riders like Jett Lambert and Rob McClelland.

A committed Phase 5 rider sponsored alongside brands like Centurion Boats and Sewlong Custom Covers, Luke thrives on the brand's high-performance skim shapes—such as the Key and Matrix series—that reward his precise control, technical tricks, and smooth execution. As a coach offering private lessons (reach out via his socials!), he shares his expertise while balancing time on the water with family, friends, hunting, fishing, and golf. His journey from quick learner to pro contender embodies Phase 5's support for driven athletes pushing the limits of skim wakesurfing, and he continues to build momentum with every session and contest in the evolving pro scene.
