Ryder Duczek

Ryder has torn his way through the Juniors, Amateur and Outlaw Divisions on his way to the Professional division over the past 5 years.

Ryder Duczek is a trailblazing Canadian on the Phase 5 wakesurf team, one of the brand's first international riders (alongside brother Dagen) since joining in 2018 after a breakout junior career. Hailing from Cranbrook, British Columbia, where short seasonal windows on lakes like Tie Lake near Jaffray demand maximum dedication, Ryder has overcome limited riding time to achieve elite status in the pro men's skim division. His resume includes multiple World Wakesurfing Championship titles (including Junior Worlds in 2017 and Outlaw Men's Skim in 2020), the first Canadian to land tricks like the 5-shuv (2020) and 7-big, three consecutive Canadian National Pro Men's Skim Championships (with a notable battle against brother Dagen in recent years), and being named Wake Canada's Men's Wakesurfer of the Year in 2022. Known for his smooth, technical surf-style riding on boards like the Matrix, Ryder's aggressive yet controlled approach—featuring big spins, shuvs, and innovative combos—has consistently put him on international podiums and earned him respect as a pioneer for Canadian wakesurfing.

A key member of Phase 5's global roster, Ryder embodies the brand's emphasis on passion, progression, and family-driven stoke, often crediting mentors like Caro Villeneuve and Isaac Hockley while pushing the sport forward despite geographic challenges. Off the water, he's a multi-sport athlete who enjoys hockey, outdoor adventures with family, and staying connected through gaming. His journey from grom standout—winning Nationals with groundbreaking junior tricks—to pro contender highlights Phase 5's support for dedicated riders worldwide. Whether dominating heats, training intensely during brief summers, or inspiring the next generation (including his talented brother Dagen on the team), Ryder continues to raise the bar for skim-style wakesurfing with relentless drive and infectious pride in representing the Phase 5 family.
