Bailey Rush has her eyes set on 2025. 2024 was an unreal season for her winning multiple championships and being named the 2024 WSWC Wakesurfer of the Year! How can you top all of that? Well, Bailey’s got some ideas…check out what she has in store for 2025 below!
PHASE 5: Hey Bailey, how has the off-season been treating you?
Bailey: The off-season has been busy with work and online coaching! I’m a school teacher so that keeps me very busy! I’ve been coaching wakesurfing online for years which also keeps me busy! Our ice doesn’t melt until the middle of May, so it’s great I’m able to still be able to coach during the off-season.
PHASE 5: I’m sure you’re ready to escape the cold and get back to riding! What are some of your plans for 2025?
Bailey: 100% I miss wakesurfing! The middle of May can’t come soon enough! My plans for 2025 is to get back on the water, get ready for the World Games and continue to coach!
PHASE 5: Where are you most excited to travel to?
Bailey: I would love to go to Dubai or Japan one day!
PHASE 5: Will you be competing more or less this year?
Bailey: About the same! :)
PHASE 5: It looks like your pro model board, the Rush, has been a big hit this season. What are some impressions about it that you’ve heard?
Bailey: Thank you! It’s been great seeing it on the water from riders across the world already! They have mentioned that it has a quick release point for 360’s and it’s very maneuverable! Another thing is ample pop on their airs because of the buoyancy and shape! Very maneuverable, fast and fun! Many people are commenting on the graphic too which is great to hear because those are my favorite colors!
PHASE 5:What are some of your goals for 2025?
Bailey: My main goal for 2025 is to continue to coach both in person and online. Along with continuing to enjoy the process of my own wakesurfing and competing!
PHASE 5: Any new tricks that you’ve got your eyes on?
Bailey: Always! :)
PHASE 5: Will you be competing in the skim side of things this year as well or sticking to surf?
Bailey: I will be doing both this year as always. I’ve never been able to decide which style I like more and they are both so different! That’s why I’m so pumped about my website offering skim and surf style courses.
