NEWS | Bailey Rush & Songkrod Jomboon Named IWWF’s Riders of the Year!

2025 was a heck of a contest season for team riders Bailey Rush and Songkrod “BM” Jomboon! With multiple wins throughout the season all over the IWWF tour (and more!), they were both honored by being named IWWF’s Women’s & Men’s Riders of The Year! Congrats, guys! With all the hard work and dedication both of them showed not only to travel and compete but to take the win on this is huge. We are stoked to have them representing Phase 5 and can’t wait to see what this season holds for them.

"It is an honour to be named Female Wakesurf Rider of the Year by the International Waterski and Wakeboard Federation as it is recognized by the International Olympic Committee as the sole authority governing towed water sports.

Having Wakesurf included in the World Games in Chengdu, China 2025 was an incredible verification of our sport and it was amazing to meet all the incredible athletes representing their countries. Being fortunate enough to bring home the Gold for Canada and hearing your National Anthem being played with your flag is every athlete's dream!

Thank you to the IWWF and all your representatives, volunteers and venue hosts for the work and dedication to bring the sport of Wakesurfing to the World stage.

Thank you P5 for building amazing boards and for your incredible contributions to the sport, and to Martin Motorsports and SurfEars for keeping me on the water doing what I love!

Let’s all hope for the inclusion of Wakesurf again in the 2029 World Games to be held in Karlsruhe, Germany." - Bailey Rush

"Last year with the IWWF was a really special experience for me. I got to compete in several international events, represent my country, and ride alongside so many talented athletes from around the world. Every event felt like a new challenge and pushed me to step up my riding each time I competed. Along the way, I grew not only as a rider, but also mentally and professionally.

Being named IWWF Rider of the Year honestly means a lot to me. It’s a huge honor and a reminder that all the hard work and sacrifices were worth it. I’m truly thankful to the IWWF, my Association, my sponsors, my coaches, and everyone who supported me throughout the season. This recognition motivates me to keep pushing myself and doing my best to represent the sport and the wakesurf community at the highest level." - Songkrod Jomboon
