Even though she was absent from the actual Regatta event to accept her award, Bailey Rush was named the International Rider of the Year by her fellow Phase 5 teammates! Bailey had an amazing season so this award is very well deserved. A huge highlight of her year was traveling to China to compete in the 2025 World Games where she took home the gold! Along with many other top podium finishes, Bailey’s year was filled with travel, awesome riding, coaching and more stoke for the sport than most! Congratulations again on an awesome year, Bailey!
PHASE 5: Hey Bailey, congrats on being named the International ROTY! What does this award mean to you?
Bailey: Thank you very much! This award means a lot, especially knowing I’m part of such a great team of riders on Phase Five!
PHASE 5: What were some of the highlights of your 2025 season?
Bailey: Winning the 2025 World Games in Chengdu, China was the ultimate highlight for my season. This was the first time wakesurfing was inducted into the World Games which is such a big deal for our sport!
PHASE 5: What are your plans for 2026?
Bailey: Keep competing, coaching and filming some cool content! I can’t wait to ride my 2026 Rush boards this season!!
PHASE 5: We're bummed you couldn't make it to the Regatta this year but we know it's a long ways to travel. When does the season kick off up north?
Bailey: It would have been amazing to be there! In Alberta, Canada, my lake doesn’t thaw until the middle of May, and starts freezing again around the middle of September. I get out there in 40 degree water at the start of the season, so my season is truly just July and August. In these months, the water temperature climbs to a much better 60-74 degrees!
